Specialized Prenatal Chiropractic Care

Welcome to Prenatal Chiropractic Care at ForeverYoung Chiropractic

Pregnancy is an incredible journey, but as your baby grows, the physical, hormonal, and emotional changes can place increasing stress on your spine, pelvis, muscles, and nervous system. Prenatal chiropractic care is designed to help your body adapt to these changes with greater comfort, ease, and balance throughout every stage of pregnancy.

Using gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments and the certified Webster Technique, we help reduce nervous system stress, improve pelvic alignment, and restore balance to the muscles and ligaments that support your growing baby. When the pelvis is balanced and functioning well, it may help reduce intrauterine constraint—the tension and restriction that can limit the space available for your baby to move and develop optimally in the womb.

A balanced pelvis and relaxed surrounding tissues can provide a more comfortable environment for your baby, allowing for natural movement, growth, and positioning throughout pregnancy. Babies rely on movement in the womb to support healthy neurological, musculoskeletal, and developmental growth. By reducing tension and improving maternal pelvic function, chiropractic care helps create the conditions for both mother and baby to thrive.

Many expectant mothers seek care for relief from back pain, pelvic discomfort, sciatica, round ligament tension, headaches, and postural stress. Beyond symptom relief, our goal is to support your body's natural ability to adapt during pregnancy, helping you move more comfortably, sleep better, maintain an active lifestyle, and prepare for birth with confidence.

At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, every pregnancy is unique. That's why we personalize your care plan to meet your individual needs, whether you're newly pregnant or nearing delivery. We also provide practical strategies, stretches, and lifestyle recommendations to help you feel your best at home, at work, and throughout your pregnancy journey.

The earlier you begin care, the sooner we can help support a balanced nervous system, a healthy pelvis, and an optimal environment for your baby's growth and development. Our mission is to help you experience a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy while giving your baby the best possible start in life.

WEBSTER'S TECHNIQUE

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustment used during pregnancy to help improve the function and balance of the pelvis, sacrum, and surrounding muscles and ligaments. As a certified Webster Technique practitioner, Dr. Jason Young and Dr. Rebecca Huddleston and Dr. Morgan Rogers assess areas of tension and imbalance that may contribute to pelvic discomfort and increased stress on the uterus and supporting structures.  They use specialized tables that allows mommas to safely and comfortably receive care while lying on their bellies – what a treat!

Although this is not a technique for breech babies, it does have a clinical success rate of 82%, allowing babies who were breech to turn into a head down position.

The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) recognizes the Webster Technique as a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that focuses on pelvic balance and nervous system function during pregnancy. It is not a treatment for fetal positioning but is intended to support optimal pelvic function and maternal well-being.

Pregnancy FAQ's Around Chiropractic Care

Is Chiropractic Care Safe During Pregnancy?

Yes. Chiropractic care is considered safe throughout pregnancy when provided by a chiropractor trained in prenatal care. At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, Dr. Jason Young, Dr. Rebecca Huddleston, and Dr. Morgan Rogers have advanced training in pregnancy and family chiropractic care, including certification in the Webster Technique and training in Spinning Babies® principles.  Our adjustments are gentle, specific, and tailored to the unique needs of each mother and stage of pregnancy. Every visit is designed to help support your comfort, mobility, nervous system function, and overall well-being while creating an optimal environment for your growing baby.

What Are the Benefits of Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy creates significant changes throughout the body, including weight gain, postural shifts, pelvic adaptations, hormonal changes, and increased stress on the spine and nervous system. These changes can contribute to back pain, pelvic discomfort, sciatica, round ligament tension, and other common pregnancy challenges.  Prenatal chiropractic care helps support proper spinal and pelvic function, reduce nervous system stress, improve mobility, and promote overall comfort. Many mothers report better sleep, improved energy, less discomfort, and greater ease throughout their pregnancy. A balanced pelvis may also help reduce intrauterine constraint, allowing more room for your baby to move, grow, and develop naturally.  It can also allow for shorter labour and delivery times with less need for interventions.

What Is the Webster Technique and Why Is It Important?

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustment used during pregnancy to help improve pelvic balance and reduce tension within the muscles and ligaments surrounding the pelvis.  When the pelvis is functioning optimally, it may help decrease intrauterine constraint and create a more comfortable environment for your growing baby. The Webster Technique is not a treatment for fetal positioning; rather, it focuses on restoring proper pelvic function and nervous system balance to support a healthier pregnancy for both mother and baby.  However, it has been shown with an 82% success rate to allow Breech positioned babies to go head down.

Will Chiropractic Adjustments Be Comfortable With My Growing Belly?

Absolutely. We use specialized pregnancy-supportive tables designed to comfortably accommodate your growing belly throughout pregnancy.  Many mothers are surprised by how comfortable they feel during their visits. Our specialized table allows you to lie face down without placing pressure on your abdomen, often providing relief that is difficult to experience elsewhere. Every adjustment is modified to your stage of pregnancy, comfort level, and individual needs to ensure a safe and relaxing experience.

When Should I Start Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy?

The best time to begin chiropractic care is as early as possible, although it is never too late to start. Beginning care early allows us to help your body adapt to the many physical and hormonal changes that occur throughout pregnancy before discomfort becomes significant.  Whether you are newly pregnant, entering your third trimester, or preparing for birth, chiropractic care can help support pelvic balance, nervous system function, comfort, mobility, and overall wellness. Many mothers choose to continue care throughout pregnancy to help maintain optimal function for themselves and their growing baby.

How Do CLA Insight Scans Help During Pregnancy?

At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, we use CLA Insight Scans to assess how your nervous system is adapting to the physical, chemical, and emotional stresses of pregnancy. These safe, non-invasive scans provide valuable information about areas of stress and imbalance within the nervous system that may not yet be causing symptoms.

By understanding how your body is functioning, we can create a personalized care plan designed to help you adapt more effectively to pregnancy, improve overall wellness, and support the healthiest possible environment for both you and your baby.

Can Chiropractic Care Help My Baby Get Into the Best Position for Birth?

Yes It may.  When the pelvis moves well and surrounding muscles and ligaments are balanced, babies often have more room to move naturally into an ideal head-down position.  While no chiropractor can guarantee or manually turn a baby, many mothers seek Webster Technique care because it may help reduce intrauterine constraint and optimize pelvic balance.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Round Ligament Pain?

Yes.  Round ligament pain is one of the most common complaints during pregnancy.

At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, we often incorporate gentle round ligament release techniques alongside chiropractic adjustments to reduce tension, improve pelvic balance, and help moms move more comfortably.

Many women notice immediate relief following treatment.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Sciatica During Pregnancy?

Yes.  Pressure around the pelvis, changing posture, and muscle tension can contribute to irritation of the sciatic nerve.

Chiropractic care helps improve movement throughout the spine and pelvis while reducing muscular tension that may contribute to sciatic symptoms.  Many pregnant women report less pain, numbness, and discomfort after beginning care.

How Often Should I Get Adjusted While Pregnant?

Every pregnancy is different.  After your initial assessment, we'll recommend a care plan based on your health goals, stage of pregnancy, and nervous system function.

Many moms choose:

  • Weekly care during periods of discomfort

  • Wellness care throughout pregnancy

  • More frequent visits as birth approaches to help maintain pelvic balance

Your recommendations are always personalized to you.

Will I Get To Lie On My Stomach?

Yes!  We use pregnancy-specific tables and positioning techniques that comfortably accommodate your growing belly.

As your pregnancy progresses, we modify every adjustment to keep both you and your baby safe and comfortable.

Most moms are surprised by how relaxing the appointments feel and wish they could take our tables home.

Can Chiropractic Care Help Me Have an Easier Labour?

Research suggests women receiving chiropractic care during pregnancy may experience greater comfort and improved pelvic function, which may contribute to a more positive birth experience.  While no healthcare provider can promise an easier labour, our goal is to help your body move, adapt, and function as efficiently as possible leading up to delivery.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Breech Babies?

The Webster Technique is not a breech-turning technique.  Instead, it focuses on improving pelvic balance and reducing tension that may limit your baby's ability to move freely. Many healthcare providers—including midwives and doulas—refer expectant mothers for Webster care as part of a collaborative approach when babies remain breech.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Sleep During Pregnancy?

Many moms tell us they begin sleeping better after starting chiropractic care.

By reducing discomfort, improving mobility, and helping calm the nervous system, chiropractic care may help you:

  • Fall asleep easier

  • Wake less often due to pain

  • Feel more rested in the morning

Better sleep supports both maternal health and baby's development.

What Happens During My First Pregnancy Chiropractic Visit?

Your first visit includes:

  • A detailed health history

  • Pregnancy-specific consultation

  • Orthopedic and neurological examination

  • Posture and movement assessment

  • Pelvic evaluation

  • CLA Insight scans (when appropriate)

  • Personalized recommendations

  • Gentle chiropractic adjustment if clinically appropriate

We take time to answer your questions so you feel informed and confident in your care.

Can Chiropractic Care Help After a Previous Difficult Birth or C-Section?

Yes.  Many women begin chiropractic care during subsequent pregnancies after experiencing:

  • A previous C-section

  • Long labour

  • Difficult delivery

  • Forceps or vacuum-assisted birth

  • Significant postpartum pelvic pain

Our goal is to help improve pelvic function, nervous system balance, and comfort throughout your next pregnancy while supporting your body's natural ability to adapt.

Can I See a Chiropractor During My First Trimester?

Yes! In fact, many women choose to begin chiropractic care during their first trimester.  As your body starts to adapt to pregnancy, hormonal changes can affect your joints, posture, muscles, and nervous system long before your baby bump appears. Beginning care early may help your body adapt more comfortably throughout pregnancy and can support healthy movement of your spine and pelvis as your baby grows. At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, every adjustment is tailored to your stage of pregnancy and your individual needs. Starting care early also gives us the opportunity to monitor your changing body throughout each trimester and support your health from the very beginning.

Is It Safe to Get Adjusted in My Third Trimester?

Yes. Chiropractic care is safe throughout all stages of a healthy pregnancy when provided by a chiropractor trained in prenatal care.  During your third trimester, we modify every adjustment using pregnancy-specific tables, cushions, and gentle techniques to ensure you and your baby remain comfortable.

Many women seek care later in pregnancy to help with:

  • Pelvic discomfort

  • Low back pain

  • Hip pain

  • Sciatica

  • Rib pain

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Preparing the body for labour

Our goal is to help your nervous system function optimally while encouraging balanced movement of your spine and pelvis as your body prepares for birth.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction)?

Yes.  Pubic bone pain is another common pregnancy complaint and often occurs as the pelvis adapts to your growing baby.Although every pregnancy is different, chiropractic care may help improve the way your pelvis moves and reduce tension in the muscles and ligaments that support it.  Our goal is to improve overall pelvic balance so everyday activities—such as walking, standing, turning in bed, or getting out of the car—feel more comfortable.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), also known as Pelvic Girdle Pain, can make everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, rolling over in bed, or getting dressed extremely uncomfortable.  While chiropractic care does not "cure" SPD, gentle prenatal adjustments may help improve pelvic mobility, reduce joint stress, and decrease muscle tension surrounding the pelvis.

At ForeverYoung Chiropractic, we combine chiropractic adjustments with movement recommendations, pelvic stabilization advice, and home exercises when appropriate to help you stay as comfortable and active as possible throughout your pregnancy.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Rib Pain During Pregnancy?

Yes. Rib discomfort is very common, especially during the second and third trimesters as your baby grows and your rib cage expands.

Many women experience:

  • Sharp pain beneath the ribs

  • Mid-back tightness

  • Difficulty taking deep breaths

  • Tenderness around the ribs

Gentle chiropractic care may help improve movement of the ribs, thoracic spine, and surrounding muscles, helping reduce tension and improve comfort.

Many mothers notice they can breathe more easily and move more comfortably after an adjustment.

Can Chiropractic Care Help Prepare My Body for Birth?

Many expectant mothers choose chiropractic care because they want their bodies functioning at their best before labour begins.

Throughout pregnancy, your body undergoes tremendous physical and neurological changes. Gentle chiropractic care helps support healthy movement of the spine and pelvis while encouraging optimal nervous system function.

Many women choose regular prenatal chiropractic care to:

  • Improve pelvic mobility

  • Reduce muscle and ligament tension

  • Encourage balanced posture

  • Stay active throughout pregnancy

  • Support comfort during the final weeks before delivery

Our Webster Certified chiropractors focus on creating the best possible environment for both mom and baby—not by forcing labour or changing your birth plan, but by helping your body function as efficiently as possible.

Do I Need a Referral to See a Pregnancy Chiropractor?

No. You do not need a referral from your family physician, obstetrician, or midwife to receive chiropractic care in Ontario.

Many women choose to begin care on their own, while others are referred by their healthcare providers.

We are happy to work alongside your medical doctor, obstetrician, midwife, doula, pelvic floor physiotherapist, or other members of your healthcare team to help provide coordinated care throughout your pregnancy.

Does Insurance Cover Pregnancy Chiropractic Care?

Most extended health benefit plans in Canada include chiropractic coverage, and pregnancy chiropractic care is typically covered under those benefits.  Coverage varies depending on your individual insurance plan, deductible, and annual maximums.  Our team is happy to help answer questions about your coverage and can provide the documentation you need to submit claims. We also offer direct billing to many insurance providers for your convenience.

What Should I Wear to My Chiropractic Appointment While Pregnant?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.  Loose-fitting clothing such as leggings, yoga pants, athletic wear, or comfortable maternity clothing works best. Most adjustments can be performed without changing your clothes.

Our pregnancy tables and positioning techniques are specifically designed to comfortably accommodate your growing belly, so you can relax during your visit.

Can I Receive Chiropractic Care if I'm Considered High-Risk?

In many cases, yes—but every pregnancy is unique.

If you have a high-risk pregnancy due to conditions such as high blood pressure, preeclampsia, placenta previa, multiples, gestational complications, or another medical concern, we will first complete a comprehensive consultation and health history to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate.

If needed, we may communicate with your obstetrician, midwife, or other healthcare provider to ensure your care is coordinated and safe.

Your health and your baby's health are always our highest priority, and we will only recommend care when it is clinically appropriate.
